FPV Phone Controller

Use your phone as an FPV radio controller for Windows simulators.

Install the desktop app, scan the QR code with your phone and start flying.

Try it: this is how it looks on your phone (demo, not connected to anything)

Up and down arrows: throttle, which holds its position. Left and right: yaw, which centers on release.

Up and down arrows: pitch. Left and right: roll. Both center on release.

It should work with other simulators that support DirectInput joysticks, but they have not been validated yet.

A first step, not a replacement

FPV Phone Controller does not replace a real radio controller, and it is not meant to be a better option. It is a way in for people who want to start practicing in simulators but cannot buy a controller yet.

To get startedGet to know the simulators, learn the sticks and take your first flights without spending money.
When you canA real radio controller gives you more precision, lower latency and a flying feel a phone cannot match.

Install and use it

~ 5 minutes
  1. Download

Download FPV Phone Controller for Windows and save the installer to your PC.

  2. Install

Run the installer: it includes everything you need. If your PC is missing the virtual controller, Windows will ask for permission once to install it.

  3. Open

Open FPV Phone Controller on your PC. When it is ready, you will see a QR code.

  4. Scan the QR

Scan it with your phone’s camera. fpv.brycofre.com opens and connects automatically; both devices must be on the same network.

  5. Fly

Open your simulator, pick the virtual joystick (it shows up as “vJoy Device”) and map Roll, Pitch, Yaw and Throttle.

In your simulator, map Arm and Reset from its controls screen; if it does not detect the button, map it as a channel or axis.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • Phone with a modern browser (tested on Android)
  • PC and phone on the same local network, or USB tethering
  • Simulator with joystick support

If your Wi-Fi acts up, plug the phone in via USB and turn on USB tethering.
